Hour 1

Introduction to Music & Sound

Concepts :

  • What is music?
  • Sound vs noise
  • Music in daily life & Indian culture


Activities :

  • Listening game (identify sounds)
  • Clapping & tapping rhythms

Hour 2

Rhythm & Beat

Concepts :

  • Beat, tempo (slow/fast)
  • Time keeping


Activities :

  • Body percussion (clap, tap, stomp)
  • Simple rhythm patterns
  • Group rhythm circle

Hour 3

Voice & Singing Basics

Concepts:

  • Using your voice safely
  • Pitch (high/low)
  • Breathing basics


Activities:

  • Voice warm-ups
  • Singing simple notes & rhymes
  • Call-and-response singing

Hour 4

Introduction to Musical Notes

Concepts:

  • Sa Re Ga Ma (Indian)
  • Do Re Mi (Western)
  • Ascending & descending scales


Activities:

  • Singing scale patterns
  • Note matching games

Hour 5

Melody & Simple Songs

Concepts:

  • What is a melody?
  • Combining notes


Activities:

  • Learn a simple children’s song
  • Group singing practice
  • Rhythm + melody coordination

Hour 6

Introduction to Instruments

Concepts:

  • Types of instruments (Indian & Western)
  • Percussion, string, wind


Activities:

  • Hands-on with simple instruments:
  • Keyboard / Xylophone
  • Tabla / Djembe
  • Shakers / Claves

Hour 7

Playing Together (Ensemble Skills)

Concepts:

  • Listening to others
  • Playing in time


Activities:

  • Group rhythm band
  • Instrument rotation
  • Team coordination exercises

Creativity & Music Expression

Concepts:

  • Music as expression
  • Improvisation (no right or wrong)


Activities:

  • Create a rhythm pattern
  • Make up a short tune
  • Music + movement activity

Hour 9

Practice & Performance Preparation

  • Rehearse song / rhythm piece
  • Stage confidence basics
  • Entry, exit, and posture

Music Showcase & Celebration
